Marc Chagall was an early member of the modernist art movement and is famous for working in a variety of mediums including painting and drawing, as well as sculpture and stained glass art. Still, despite his vast array of works and media, his style remains unique.

This plate shows us a scene inspired by, “The Frog Who Wished to be as big as an Ox” from The Fables of La Fontaine. The etching measures 20”H x 17”W and has museum quality framing and matting. There is very little damage to the frame and glass, whereas the print is in perfect condition. This is a drypoint etching on paper and is signed within the plate in the lower left hand corner.
