The Last Sitting was commissioned by Vogue Magazine in June 1962. This collection took place over three sessions, interestingly taken six weeks before Marilyn’s passing. Stern’s collection of photographs of the star were released 12 years later, in 1972. From The Last Sitting, Stern was able to also publish a book of the photographs, including over 2500 images of Marilyn Monroe.
These photos are framed and signed by the artist in the bottom right hand corner, and numbered in the left. Each photograph is museum quality matted and framed, measuring 28"H x 26"W.
